This is a timeline-based pattern, designed to help you recover from physical and emotional burnout. When all you feel is fatigue, exhaustion, and boredom with your daily life, it is a result of a long struggle that ended with you falling on your face and unable to get back up.

Why did it happen? The short answer is that you simply behaved, consistently and without awareness, in violation of your highest values. The inverse is the cure, or should we say redemption.

Step 1: As hard as it may seem, take one day off and devote it to recalibrating your values and life’s mission. #

No distractions, no commitments, no appointments. You can make the process more enjoyable by traveling to the seaside or your favorite spot in nature.

Step 2: Work through and complete the Values Hierarchy Identification pattern. #

Do not rush it. Take it seriously and methodically.

Step 3: When you’re ready to redeem yourself, enter your timeline, front to back, and float above it, facing the future. #

Step 4: Move forward in time to the near future, either a month from now or up to one year from now. #

Step 5: Turn around at that point and look towards the present and its extension into the past. #

Step 6: Create a symbol to represent the present moment (the “now” in real time). #

Step 7: Ask yourself, “Up to that point in time (point towards the symbol), how was I living outside my highest values? #

Step 8: As the memories and visual representations of your past actions come towards you, acknowledge your responsibility without placing blame by simply saying “I see that” or “I can see what happened” or “I know I thought it was a good idea at the time,” and let the representation pass you by. #

Step 9: Spend as much time as you need processing the stream of memories and visuals, and when the stream slows down, lift your right hand and signal for it to stop. #

Step 10: Turn around on your timeline, now facing the future again, and float back to the present (the “now” in real time). #

Step 11: Break state. #

You may also take a real break and get some rest before completing the next steps.

Step 12: Look at the list of your highest values and ask, “How am I going to make sure I am living inside my highest values? #

" What are the choices I have to make to express these values in reality, starting from now towards the future? "

Step 13: As you think of new and exciting ideas for future choices of behavior, anchor that moment in time. #

Several of these new choices should be timed to coincide with events or situations that are likely to occur in the coming week or month.

Step 14: Test: How do you feel about your life now that you’ve been redeemed? #

You can enhance the results even further by establishing new well-formed desired outcomes or simply reviewing the ones you had before and adjusting them according to your highest values. Refer to the Well-Defined Outcome pattern for more details.
