Extended quotes are a type of nesting where you have nested third party direct quotations, reenacting what someone else said (or might have said). Within these supposed quotations, you may embed commands or use any other linguistic suggestion. Examples:

“And I met this highly spiritual person, and she said - You ARE beautiful, such a beautiful soul you have… you can imagine how it must have felt, can you not?”

“You know, son, when I was in high school and had a trouble concentrating, like you do recently, my most favorite teacher told me a secret to make it easier… she said, when something seems too big to deal with, just chunk it down, to smaller pieces, and focus on the most important chunk in front of you. Can you do that, now?”

“Honey, I know you’re stressed out right now, and I wish I could make it better, and now I just thought about it… remember that time when your father first took you out there to ride a bike for the first time, and he shouted at you - YOU GOT THIS!, and you DID, did you now?”
