We are constantly concerned with the unknown. The moving shadow in our bedroom late at night can startle us, until we turn on the night lamp and see it’s only the curtain. This pattern is meant to turn a vague problem into a specific and manageable one.

Step 1: Give the issue a title. #

Step 2: When does the issue manifest itself? #

Is there any pattern or regularity in the occurrence of the problem, such as only occurring on Sunday, in the early hours, or at midnight?

Step 3: Where does the issue arise? #

Is there a pattern to where the problem happens and where it doesn’t happen? Is it only in the house, for example, but never at work?

Step 4: What is the issue’s output? #

Aside from the client’s words and actions, what would a third-party observer notice about the client’s behavior when they were experiencing the issue? What would I have to do if I had your issue and wanted to replicate the experience of it?

Step 5: Who is it happening to? #

Is the problem yours alone while you face it? With whom else? Are there any variations in terms of “spectators”? How do you interact with these people? How do they interact with you during the experience of the issue?

Step 6: What are the issue’s extenuating circumstances? #

Is there ever a time when the issue does not occur? What makes those times/locations/environments unique?

Step 7: What actions does the client take differently as a result of the issue, or what elements are avoided? #

When it comes to activities they participate in or avoid, how does the problem impact their lives?

Step 8: What does the client demonstrate during the session that is relevant to the issue? #

When you talk about a state, you remember all the physical and mental sensations that go with that state.

Step 9: What are the client’s explanations and frames of reference for the issue? #

How is the issue viewed from the client’s unique point of view and background?

Step 10: What has the client or others tried to do about the “issue”? #

Step 11: When the issue is resolved, how will we know? #

How will you be able to tell if the issue has been solved objectively? Putting the client’s issues into words that can be seen by others makes them easier to solve because the results are already known. These results need to be based on what we know to be true.

Step 12: What is the plan of action? #

What may be the first most significant step to take, in order to move from current reality to solving the issue? 13.Future pace.
