To help you prepare for the day’s duties, here is a brief practice. As a visual aid, it serves as a reminder of the abundance of resources available to you, within you. With the help of internal resources, you may be more present and responsive to current reality. You can use this technique to prepare for a discussion that you expect to be difficult. Visualize this whenever you lack confidence, do not really know where to go next, or just want to re-center yourself.

Step 1: Take a few deep breaths, and as you tune out to th… #

a. Who in your life has provided you with unwavering support? You can look as far as you need to the past to find that person. b. List the top three qualities you admire about this person. c. Consider three to five additional persons you admire. They could be real or from another epoch. Make a list of three characteristics about each one of them them that you appreciate. d. As you consider these persons, make a list of five qualities in yourself that you aspire towards.

Step 2: Downtime: Close your eyes and enter your mind’s theatre. #

You sit in the center of the stage.

Step 3: Imagine the 5 admirable person from step 2c entering the stage from the left. #

They all wear matching T-Shirts, titled “Support Team”.

Step 4: Imagine your supporters coming closer, settling as a semi-circular team sitting around and in front of you. #

Step 5: Imagine them offering you these qualities that you admire. #

Each is holding a symbol of its most important (to you) quality in both hands, palms up and reached out towards you.

Step 6: Accept the offer, and notice what happens with your posture as they are transferring their qualities and strengths to your hands. #

Step 7: Take a deep breath, open your eyes and note of your posture: how you are sitting right now. #

Step 8: Test. #

Think about the upcoming challenge that you felt less confident about previously. How do you feel now, with all these qualities embedded within you?
