In hypnotherapy, a trance is a state of altered consciousness characterized by focused attention, increased relaxation, and increased suggestibility.
It is a natural and relaxed state in which the subconscious mind of an individual becomes more receptive to positive suggestions and therapeutic interventions aimed at promoting change, healing, or personal growth.
Nonverbal cues that indicate a deep trance should be observed because they provide valuable information about the client’s level of relaxation and receptivity to suggestions.
Slowed breathing, relaxed muscle tone, fluttering eyelids, and subtle changes in facial expressions are nonverbal cues that the client has entered a state of deep relaxation and heightened suggestibility.
This enables the hypnotherapist to assess the efficacy of their induction techniques and adjust their therapeutic interventions accordingly.
