When working with clients, it is critical that you create a safe and supportive environment in which they can discuss their fears. Begin by asking if they have any recurring fears or anxieties. Assure them that you are available to listen without passing judgment.

Explain that the Fears List contains a comprehensive collection of common fears. Go through the list of fears one by one, asking if they have had or are having that fear. Encourage them to share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences associated with each fear.

This process allows for a thorough exploration of their fears as well as the expression of their concerns. As they identify their fears, discuss them in greater depth to gain a better understanding of how they affect their lives.

By going through the Fears List step by step, you can help them identify the fears that are most important to them and lay the groundwork for future therapeutic work. This process must be approached with empathy, active listening, and sensitivity to their unique experiences.
