Instructions #
Introduce the Self-Talk Monitoring Worksheet to your client as a tool for observing and documenting their self-talk patterns.
Explain that they should keep track of specific instances of positive and negative self-talk throughout the day, as well as how it affects their emotions. Encourage them to complete the worksheet at home on a regular basis.
When the client returns with the completed form, review and analyze their self-talk observations together in the following session.
Examine any patterns or themes that emerge, investigate the impact of various self-talk statements, and devise strategies for shifting negative self-talk to more positive and empowering language.
Use the completed worksheet as a starting point for more in-depth discussions, as well as to assist the client in developing personalized coping strategies and promoting self-awareness and positive self-talk in their daily lives.
