Association is the process of fully immersing oneself in an experience, perceiving it through one’s own senses and emotions, as if reliving it in the present moment.

Dissociation, on the other hand, entails detaching from the experience and observing it from a third-person perspective, as if from afar. Both association and dissociation are important in NLP techniques because they provide different perspectives and insights.

Association allows for a more intense emotional connection and subjective experience, which aids in the exploration and transformation of limiting beliefs and behaviors.

Dissociation offers an objective perspective, allowing for analysis, learning, and detachment from negative emotions or traumatic memories.

NLP practitioners can effectively navigate and reframe experiences to promote personal growth, understanding, and positive change by strategically using both association and dissociation.
