This is a therapeutic intervention in relations to the Walt Disney technique. The exercise assists clients in shifting from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset, allowing them to approach problems with curiosity, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset.
It promotes self-reflection, alternative exploration, and empowers clients to find their own answers and solutions.
For example, if a client expresses self-criticism about their perceived lack of social skills, you can direct them to ask, “How can I develop and enhance my social skills in a way that feels authentic and comfortable for me?” This question allows the client to consider different strategies, seek support, or challenge their self-limiting beliefs.Clients can gain new insights, discover hidden resources, and move toward positive change and personal growth by reframing criticisms into questions.
