The concept of process versus static is concerned with how people perceive and interact with their surroundings. It reflects their cognitive orientation as well as the lens through which they view reality.

The essence of this concept is found in the various perspectives that people take when navigating their experiences. Those who have a static orientation see the world as stable, fixed, and centered on tangible elements.

They see people, objects, and situations as static entities, and they frequently describe and label them with nouns. Clients with a process orientation, on the other hand, see the world as dynamic, evolving, and driven by constant change.

They concentrate on the flow of actions, behaviors, and transformations, describing and comprehending their experiences with verbs and behaviors.

The key is to recognize that different people have different cognitive orientations that influence their perceptions, thoughts, and interactions with the world.
