Understanding one’s motivation orientation reveals information about their mindset, goal pursuit, and decision-making. Clients who are oriented toward others have a “go after” mindset, actively seeking personal growth and pursuing their dreams and passions.
They are intent on achieving and obtaining their goals. Away-oriented people, on the other hand, adopt a “run from” mindset, prioritizing the avoidance of conflicts, problems, and sources of stress. They strive to eliminate or reduce negative experiences.
