Instructions #
To prepare participants for the “Future Forward” exercise, the trainer should first explain the activity’s purpose and benefits. Stress that the exercise’s goal is to help people overcome stuck states and expand their options through visualization and perspective shifting.
Next, make it clear what roles each participant will play: operator, observer, and meta-person. Clearly define each role’s responsibilities and explain how they will collaborate during the exercise.
Encourage participants to choose a specific challenge or situation in which they feel stuck as the focus of their visualization. Finally, remind participants to go into the exercise with an open mind and a willingness to try new things.
Make sure they understand the significance of actively participating in the visualization process and reflecting on their experience afterward.
